Peer Leader

As a Peer Leader, I mentor a group of 25 Computer Science students throughout their first semester at Stevens. I meet with them throughout orientation and three times during the semester, guiding them through their CS class schedules, resources on campus, scheduling classes, and more.

In my second year as a PL, I was chosen to be a Team Lead. I held this position for 2 years! As a Team Leader, I overlook 12 Peer Leaders, ensuring that they are meeting their responsibilities and advising them when they need support. I also helped organize training events for 58 peer leaders and orientation events for 1000 first-year students, and had to quickly adapt both to a virtual setting.

My favorite part of my role as a Team Lead was the opportunity to give this presentation on Cultivating a Positive Mindset to the rest of the PL team!

Sigma Delta Tau Sorority

As a woman in an engineering school where the majority of students are male, it was important for me to find a group of women to be part of my community and my support system. What makes me most proud to be a Sig Delt is the impact my chapter strives to have on campus. Our sisters are leaders in clubs and in classes, and we have the highest GPA of all Greek organizations at Stevens. Most of all, we open ourselves to having difficult conversations related to diversity and inclusion, and we aim to be a loving and welcoming community for everybody. I am honored to be part of an organization filled with strong, kind, and intelligent women.

I am currently the Vice President of my chapter of Sigma Delta Tau. This role allows me to grow my leadership and management skills.

Indian Undergraduate Association

My culture has always been vital part of my identity. I was delighted to find a community at Stevens of other Indian students with who I could go see Bollywood movies, try Indian restaurants, and talk to about our shared experience as first or second-generation Americans.

In my sophomore year, I served as the Ethnic Student Council Representative for IUA. I acted as an intermediary between the Ethnic Student Council and IUA executive board to ensure an open line of communication about topics regarding budgeting and event planning. I helped to organize 5 cultural events per semester for 150 people in order to share and embrace South Asian culture.

Memories I've made with people I love:
